*CANCELLED* (sorry) GWP forever home!! 5 EASY STEPS :)

Post by Liza007 » Thu May 06, 2010 11:08 am

This is for the end of May (after the 18th) but as it's a long flight that will require quite a few people, I would like to get started ASAP (AND we have the holiday weekend to deal with!)

Meg is a German Wirehaired Pointer that came into rescue as a shadow of a dog found in a Kansas shelter that would cower and shake when humans tried to come near her. While Meg is still a shy girl, she is sweet and loving and appreciative of the food and care she has received. Thanks to her foster moms care and love, Meg is now ready to go to her approved home! Our problem is that Meg's new home is in Florida

I understand that this is a long trip and will probably require an overnight stay depending on planes flight speed and weather

Possible route:
LEG 1: KOJC~KBBG <156.9NM>
LEG 2: KBBG~KOLV <190.9NM>
LEG 3: KOLV~KTOI <266.1NM>
LEG 4: KTOI~KGNV <232.9NM>
LEG 5: KGNV~KPGD <166.5NM>
(obviously you guys know better and this is flexible)

PASSENGER INFORMATION:
Meg
German Wirehaired Pointer
Weight: 70#
Spayed Female
Crate: YES
UTD vaccines, Heartworm preventative, Frontline
Traveling with: harness, leash, blanket, toys, food (enough for contingency) rabies tag, health certificate, crate

As I don't always receive notice that there is mail 'here' please reply to [email protected] and refer to 'MEG TRANSPORT' in the subject line.

Thank you all in advance for your assistance and thank you for choosing rescue,
Liz

Hi,
I would be happy to fly Meg from Covington, TN to TOI, AL. I see the transport can't start until May 18. Closer to the 18th would work better for me.

I can get the final leg of the trip as a back up pilot. (If no one else signs up). I usually fly to Tallahassee or Bainbridge, GA.

Thank you Jeff!

Will definitely need to take you up on your offer!! I did email you directly..

I am trying desperately to get everyone on the same page and the same date to help this girl get home.

Not gonna lie.. getting confused :-P

Last time I take on three transports at once! LOL

This may not be much help, but I can do the Branson-Memphis leg; however, it would have to be after June 2nd... I'm out of town that last week of May...

I could do the Memphis to Troy, AL leg on the same day as Marc could do the Branson to Memphis run....

Liz,
To this point in time. It looks like I will fly Meg from Covington to somewhere in FL to meet Jeff. I hope your leg one pilot can meet me in SE Mo like TKX, Kennett,MO for the swap. This would eliminate the BBG - TN leg. Can you update this post with current information so if someone else responds, they will have good information.
