DONE: Somerset,KY(42503) to Coatesville,PA(19320)-July24

Looking for transport on Saturday, July 24, for Kashi, 3 month old, Shepherd Mix . Kashi needs a ride from Somerset, KY (42503) to Coatesville, PA (G.O. Carlson Airport [KMQS])or any airport in the area. Kashi is will be spayed on July 13 and will go to foster home in KY for the 7-10 day recover. She will be able to fly on Saturday, July 24.

Can move Kashi in two-three flights if necessary to remain under 300 miles for each pilot. Just need to know if pilot can pick up in KY and where they can fly to in order to help bring Kashi towards PA.

Weather permitting

I can fly some of the western end of this flight. The safest way for me would be to fly from KSME to KMGY for the night then on to KWAY the next day. This will get Kashi to western PA.

Hi Dean,

Let's hope the weather stays clear. Since you are willing to fly the first leg, what time would you need to leave KSME. I am assuming this would be on Saturday, July 24, and you would stay over and fly from KMGY to KWAY on Sunday, July 25, is this correct. I would need to post for the next pilot to meet at KWAY when you get there.

I think it only takes me 1.5 hours to fly the leg to Summerset. I would leave KMGY at 8am so that puts me there at 9:30-10:00am.

It is possible that I could just do the KWAY segment direct from Summerset. If that is the case then I would be in KWAY 2.5 hours after the departure at Summerset.

I am assuming you are located in Ohio based on the two posts. Since you would be the 1st pilot, it is up to you what your preference is for flying Kashi to PA. I will try to find a pilot to meet you at KWAY based upon the date/time you get there depending upon which flight routes you are most comfortable with taking.

I can transport either on the 24th or 25th from Morgantown, WVa to Coatesville, Pa. I suggest the transfer be made at MGW (Morgantown, WVa. airport). They have cross runways that will better allow for wind conditions. Their runways are also considerably longer than KWAY. I fly out of Frederick, Maryland (KFDK) and can be in Morgantown for a transfer between 9 and 10am. Given the likely ground temperatures a morning transfer is easier on the dog and preferable to later in the day. I have no problem with a transfer in KMGW, as for 24th or 25th I would choose the day with the best weather.
Sounds like I should leave KMGY at 6:30am arrive at KSME around 8:00am then after loading fly the 2:25 minutes to put me in Morgantown at about 10:45 or so.

Weather permitting and keeping in mind that I am Private VFR only 250 hour pilot
My current plan would be to leave Dayton earily on the 24th (6:30am) arrive at KSME 1.5 hours later or so then depart KSME direct for Morgantown. Looks to me like it would take me about 2.25 hours to fly to the SME direct MGW leg arriving hopfully arround 10:45am. After the exchange I would return to KMGY.

If the two of you decide to meet at KMGW, here is what I have based upon the e-mail:

Date: July 24 (alternate date pending weather July 25)

Leg 1: KSME to KMGW
8:30am Depart KSME (Dean I will have the foster meet you at 8:00am at the airport with Kashi)
10:45am Arrive KMGW

Note: 15 minute potty break

Leg 2: KMGW to KMQS
11:00am Depart KMGW
??? Arrive KMQS (John need to know ETA)

Once meeting location is confirmed by both of you, I will put together an agenda with everyone's information.
