Peanut - the senior Brittany/Boykin spaniel - made the trip from Save the Strays Animal Rescue, near Camden, SC, to Wilkes-Barre, PA, Saturday, January 24.

Our deepest gratitude to:
1. Jim Pyke, who flew down to Camden from Charlotte to pick up Peanut and then flew him to Lumberton, NC
2. Dave Kenney, who flew Peanut and two other dogs to Linden, NJ and
3. Julia McConnell, who flew Peanut on to Wilkes-Barre and delivered him to his adoptive family.

This was our rescue's first experience flying a dog, and it went very smoothly, thanks to the determination and flexibility of the pilots involved. I am very very grateful for their help in pulling this flight together, as well as for carrying it out.

Thanks also to all the other pilots who expressed interest in helping Peanut. I'm sure we will have other dogs that need flights in the future, so please keep us in mind.

I will be posting some photos taken at Camden on our web page (www.savethestrays.org) shortly and hope to receive some from the Wilkes-Barre end to add soon. Dave, if you took any photos at the start or end of your leg, we'd love to have those, as well. You can email them to me at [email protected].

This is a terrific group, and I look forward to working with you again. Pilots rock!
