DONE! Basset mom & 5 puppies 40509 Lexington to TTN or KJVU

Post by MidABHR » Mon Nov 23, 2009 4:42 pm

COMPLETED SUCCESSFULLY SATURDAY DECEMBER 12 - HUGE THANKS TO PILOT GEORGE ROONEY WHO FLEW THE ENTIRE MISSION
God bless George greatly for helping save the lives of momma and her puppies, AND another male basset and rotti-basset mix. Thanks to all who offered to help - you are God's angels in the skies.
Momma basset was pulled from a kill shelter in KY - she was supposed to come up on an air transport on 10/25/09, but decided that her puppies needed to be taken care of first on 10/23/09. All are currently in Safe Haven Kennels in Richmond, KY 859-369-7915.
This kennel is about one hour from Lexington KY (40509)

Talulah is very sweet and affectionate, and the puppies are adorable. We have a foster home waiting for them until they can be adopted out at around 12 weeks old.

Mom and pups have been seen by a vet. We are obtainign health certificates for interstate travel.

Can meet pilot in Trenton-Mercer Airport TTN, Queen City (Allentown 18109) Airport KJVU, and others in the general vicinity of the NJ/PA border.

Hi Suzanne,
I can do the last leg. Something like Clarksburg, WV KCKB to Allentown, PA or my home base, Doylestown, PA KDYL. Weekdays except Thurs are good for me.

We have several options. One pilot in KY offered to take them to Ashland.
We can try three pilots to handle this mission, but we also have had an offer from a pilot in NJ to go to Lexzington and back.
Will keep all posted - appreciate your offers.

Suzanne,
It looks like this Saturday, 12/12, might work for the transport from Lexington to Trenton. I would leave early from NJ and arrive in LEX by 11:00 AM. I would probably get back to Trenton around 3:00 PM. I'll have to keep watching the weather because it's supposed to deteriorate Saturday evening and be bad on Sunday. I'll keep you up to date. I could load two large crates and one medium size so I can take as many dogs as possible. Hopefully, this will work.
George
