Map of PNP Friendly Rescues & Safe Harbor

Hi All,

Pilots N Paws (PNP) needs a little help. It has come apparent, in the short time I have been with PNP, that the logistics in getting the animals from point A to point B often involves several volunteer pilots over a long distance. These long distance rescues are the problem. The sad fact is that the long distance rescue fails more often than not. We are reaching out to the Rescue Sites for some assistance with these long distance rescues.

Let’s suppose for a moment that we had PNP Friendly Rescues plotted on the map in roughly the same numbers we have pilots. I contend these Rescue Operators can trim the burs off of the logistic nightmares while conducting these animal rescues. Perhaps we could make more efficient use of the pilots willing to help. A coordinated rescue could plan the rendezvous points at the airports near these Friendly Rescues. By communicating with the Host Rescue, they are aware that an animal rescue is operating at their airport and ready if needed. The pilots are assured that if something went wrong they would have help with the animals. The PNP Friendly Rescues may also take an active role in the case where the pilots are unable to make the rendezvous point on the same day or time. This would smooth things out greatly. Also I would imagine that an animal may make his journey by catching flights that would otherwise be deadhead.

I have started such a map. See link below.

If you would like to participate and you are not a PNP member I would ask that you Join at http://www.pilotsnpaws.org and email me your info that appears in the pop-up’s on the map.
