DONE! Paralyzed Lab needs ride BWI to FME Sat 1/23

Leg 2-- Baltimore,MD to Cary,NC

A friend in NC wrote this about a dog she is adopting:
Carl is a 2 year old lab who had surgery for a spinal tumor. The tumor was found to be benign, but the surgery has left Carl paralyzed. I really want to have Carl see a neurologist and then get him rehabilitation.
He has had some rehab & was making progress, but is no longer going while in UT.
Two year old Labrador who developed ataxia a year ago. With an MRI, a spinal tumor was discovered which was surgically biopsied in February 2009 and found to be benign. After surgery, Carl was paralyzed and unable to control his bowels or bladder. By a couple of weeks post surgery Carl was able to control his bladder and bowels and able to feel his toes and wag his tail. Carl has been to rehabilitation and is now able to stand with assistance, but unable to walk without a wheelchair.
We are looking into the possibility of flying him on PetAirways--but he would still need to get to Denver to depart and then get to NC from Washington, DC.
I'm a bit scared to put a special needs dog of this size on a regular commercial airline trip in cargo.

Transport is starting to fall into place for 1/21 leaving CO and ending 1/22 in MD.

Is anyone available to help get Carl closer to NC?

Do you know what airport in Baltimore? Will I be exchanging with another pilot or is there a host in Baltimore that will be taking him? You can call me 757-377-9962

Carl is arriving at BWI tomorrow-late afternoon. Weather looking poor for further transport that night.

Can anyone pick him up Sat AM (by 11AM) and take him to FEM (Tipton, Fort Meade(Odenton), MD) to meet pilot Mike?

I can pick up the dog at BWI on Saturday morning and drive him over to FME . Both are just a short distance from my home.
Mike - what time do you want the dog at the airport?

You can call me at 443-801-9932

Thank you Gary. It looks like the overnight foster can meet Mike later on Sat after all. I'll double check this.

Thanks again, Gary. Mike couldn't make his flight earlier to meet you. (It was an ideal plan though :) ).

Have a good trip on your flight.
