Last Saturday I was privileged to fly one leg of a PnP transport for an Australian Shepherd. She originated from Cincinnati. I picked her up in St. Louis and delivered her to Kansas City. I got to spend about an hour with her before the rescue coordinator was able to meet up with me. I am not used to high energy dogs, since my Golden Retriever is old and slow. Abby, the Aussie girl, was sweet but wired and incredibly alert. Even as she sat on my lap in the grass you could tell she was "on watch duty". I shared my opinion that this particular girl might not be best served by the long trip to California with many flights and exchanges. After a day or so, apparently the coordinator and the receiving person agreed and flew her commercially to California. The rest of the story is too incredible for me to put into words. In less than a week, "Air Abby" is now featured in a website and on YouTube. Check it out for yourself. Awesome!!!
The website with her story is: http://www.k9discthrills.com/. Enjoy!
