I know a trip from Phoenix, AZ to CT is much too far for PNP to assist with but I was hoping to get advice. My brother passed last week, he was a homeless vet whose worldly possession amounted to a couple of boxes of stuff and 1 30lb dog. His dog is currently being fostered by Vets with Pets out of Phoeniz AZ and I need to figure out the best way to get his dog to her new home. Her new home is obviously with my wife, our 4 rescues and myself. I am afraid of flying her cargo on a commercial jet but do not see what else I can do. Pet Airways is not making any flights and I am unable to fly out from CT to AZ and drive her back. I do not mean it would be a hassle to drive her out, I am actually unable to do it. Any advice would be appreciated.

I hope you've found a solution for this dilemma. Have you considered re-homing this dog where she already is? If she is still in need of a permanent home I would be glad to help you with that. I'm in AZ and I train service dogs for disabled vets, and have also placed a few pets with vets due to situations similar to yours. Let me know if I can be of assistance; my email addy is below.
I'm so sorry for the loss of your brother.
