Needing Transport for a Wounded Marine's Puppy

Post by AndyDVA » Mon Dec 17, 2012 7:55 am

This is my first time posting, but long story short, I am a wounded warrior, was injured in a helicopter incident in Iraq...metal up and down my back, etc. I have a friend who is a Marine SSgt who lost his leg in Afghanistan 6 weeks ago. He is in San Antonio for the next 6 months learning to use his new leg. His dog, a 140 pound Mastiff named Titus, is stuck in NC because he can't afford to fly him to TX. He really misses his dog and may be one of the best things to help his recovery. Trying to get his pup to TX.

Sorry to hear that. I'm in Austin, and would be happy to help with a final leg from somewhere down to SA if scheduling works out. Good luck arranging the multi-leg this will require.

Is this Alex? I am also out of Above and Beyond and would be willing to help out. Maybe we could split the flight or somthing.

As a last resort, I may end up driving down to NC and then driving the pup out to San Antonio. This is one of those times where I really wish I could fly again - but with my hardware in my back and the meds that the docs have me on still, I'm still unable to get clearance to fly - it's killing me.

Thanks for anything we're able to come up with.

BTW Above and Beyond - I think I had a friend that went to fly with you all several years ago...but that may not be the same group - out of Austin right?

@Jacob - sure is. If it gets that far we can arrange something.

@Andy - sure is. Out of KAUS w/ George and his crew. I got my PPL and rent from them.

Might be able to meet you somewhere so you wouldn't have to drive as far.

Hello all - I have good news - Titus (the dog) has a ride and will be in San Antonio to link up with the Wounded Marine on Christmas.

I want to thank everyone who started helping me with this process and volunteering to help.
