Hello,
I want to ensure I understand your request. I believe you are looking for someone ( I am in Herndon ) to room & board this dog overnight and take her to JYO on Saturday 16 Feb. is that correct?

Here is the transport email and trip route. These are private car volunteers, Rosie is the only passenger. $ of the legs have been filled. This group of volunteers moves mountains...I know they will get her to Leesburg.

Hello Road Warriors,
This one is URGENT!! This poor little old girl was brought into the vet to be killed. The vet said NO and Terri with Poodle Rescue of VT has offered to take her. Rosie has 2 pilots on standby to fly her to VT. But we have to get her to Leesburg , VA to start her trip. I need commitment from y’all to drive by Friday 7pm (est) so we can coordinate the pilots. I know this is very short notice but sometimes we get that when we can save a life.

Terri:

I can get her Saturday afternoon, just have someone let me know when I need to be there, and can deliver her to Leesburg airport Sunday morning. I have talked with Doug and he is willing to let me have this one.

best,

Jerry Roscoe

Thank you very much Jerry. I will copy you to the transport request so you will be included in the info. I will also copy you to the emails between pilots and the other foster parent and myself. Rick is saying their is a chance of us getting another Nor'easter....PRAY like HELL that isn't so...we got 18 inches last weekend. We will make a back up plan for Rosie...if this gets delayed yet again.

Here is what I posted on our Facebook page about Rosie. This little poodle is blessed and everyone helping her to make it to Rosemary is blessed as well.

Thank you all.

Matches made in heaven. I am always telling our volunteers and supporters that I make the phone calls and send the emails but it's really something greater than us all that makes the matches for our poodles. PRVT was contacted a few month...s ago by a senior named Rosemary. One of Rosemary's senior mini black poodles past away and her remaining female was so lonesome as was Rosemary. Rosemary called to check in on Tuesday of this week asking if we had a poodle for her yet. I told her not yet. Later that day, I received an email about a senior female poodle turned in for euthanasia and could we help. I said a silent prayer that she would be black. I called the Vet's office and yes she was black and they refused to euthanize her. The owner was adopting her grandchildren, one with special needs, who was not kind to the little poodle. The Vet has cared for this poodle her entire life and said, there is a better way. I told them we have a home for the poodle and made arrangements to get her to VT. I hung up and realized I forgot to ask the poodle's name. I called back. Her name is Rosie! Rosie for Rosemary. Happy Valentines Day. ♥ We hope Rosie will be flying into VT this Sunday.

Terri,
I am heading to work, but my wife (Tammy) is briefed and is standing by to to retrieve Rosie should the WX preclude a safe flight. While I don't know the transport pilot's ratings or type aircraft or route North, I suspect he is looking closely at all the Airmets that address icing and turbulence. As a commercial/instrument rated pilot, I would have a moment of pause (not paws- pun). We want to make it clear, we do not mind taking care of Rosie until she can make the trip in a comfortable envelope.
