Pup saved from euth needs transport from SC to rescue in WI

Post by Forpitsake » Sun Oct 27, 2013 2:51 pm

Number of animals being transported: 1

Breeds, weight, age: Blue pit mix, female, medium size, approx 35-40 lbs, 8mo to a 1 year old as stated by shelter

Health Condition: good, "Lynny" was very malnourished and skinny when she arrived to me. She is still underweight but is gaining weight nicely.

Heart worm Status: HW NEG
Vaccinations: distemper, rabies, bordatella

Health Certificate: have not attained one yet

Spay/Neutered: not spayed..hope to make an appt for spay by end of this week

Special needs: none

Name of Sending Rescue/Parties: Jennifer Gray, active foster in Myrtle Beach, SC. Active and long time volunteer for local rescues.

Name of Receiving Rescue/Parties: Judy Smith, owner of Lil Rascals Refuge Rescue in Thorp, Wisconsin

Contact information (publicly viewable on forum): [email protected]

Are you a 501c3: no

Additional Info/situation: "Lynny" was pulled and rescued from Clayton County Shelter, a high kill shelter in Georgia. Shes a super friendly and loving dog, listens well, and loves to be by your side. It took a few days for her to adjust to my dogs, Lynny seemed fearful rather than aggressive towards other dogs. After 4 days, she now socializes, plays, and sleeps with my other two dogs. She was very underweight and malnourished when she arrived to me but she has been putting on weight in the last 2 weeks. I have a good relationship with Judy Smith of Lil Rascals Refuge, a small independent rescue in WI. Judy is incredible with animals. I feel happy knowing Lynny will go to WI rather than be adopted out in SC, a state ( SC) where pit bull and pit mixes are very overpopulated and overcrowd local shelters, fight rings are fairly frequent, and this breed is sadly mistreated more often than not. I appreciate any help getting Lynny to WI so she can start her new life!

Well I just happen to be going from Charleston SC to Neillsville WI on Nov 6 to go hunting. If somebody could get the dog to KLRO Mt. Pleasant airport early by 7am and pick up 5.5 hours later
at KVIQ she 'd have a comfy ride in a pressurized airplane. It looks as if my destination is about 35 miles from where she needs to go.

@Jacksondickerson
Thank you so much for the offer! I'm leaving to go out of the country on Nov 4th..so I asked family members who Lynny (dog) is familiar with if she or he would be able to drive her to Mt Pleasant SC that Wed early morning. I should have a definite answer for you tomorrow. Does that work? This is my first time using Pilots for Paws forum..do we only reply to this forum or are there ways to communicate privately to work out additional details or swap contact info?
@rugby
If you could meet jackson dickerson in WI and get Lynnyto Thorp, WI..that too would be wonderful!

Lynny is going with Jack next week and Judy, owner of the rescue she is going to will meet Jack at the airport so I no longer need any transport from the airport in WI to Thorp, WI. THANK you very much to everyone who offered to help or asked about her! I will post when she arrives safely
