Another 31 dogs for pilot Jeff Bennett, WESH Orlando Reports
31 Dogs Rescued, put at No Kill Shelters WESH Orlando
ORLANDO, Fla. — Thirty one dogs, mostly from Alabama, arrived at the Orlando Executive Airport Wednesday with the help of Pilots N Paws Pet Rescue Services.
“I just love dogs, and I love flying,” said Jeff Bennett of Pilots N Paws, a group of volunteer pilots dedicated to helping save dogs. “I just put the two together.”
The dogs were rescued from their previous shelter, where they all would have been put down.
“It’s always a good feeling,” Bennett said. “These dogs would have been euthanized, so you know you are doing what little bit you can.”
The dogs were taken to several shelters in the area, including the SPCA of North Brevard, A New Beginning Pet Care and Rescue and Save a Life Pet Rescue.
The animals will be cleaned up, checked out and put up for adoption.

From Pilot Jeff Bennett:
The shelter/rescues put togetehr a great transport to end 2011. It started with 7 Poodles and 2 Shep mixes that I picked up in Ft. Lauderdale. The Poodles were delivered to a rescue in Tampa.
Then it was off to Bainbridge, Ga. I met up with PNP pilot Todd Brooks who brought me three pups (Border Collie, JRT and Scruffy (Patches)). Todd took the two Shep mixes from me and delivered one to Tuscaloosa, AL and the other to Nashville, TN.
I also picked up two Black and Tan Coonhounds from Georgia and 26 assorted dogs/puppies from Leonard Sharp who ground transported them all down from Alabama. There were a total of 31 dog/puppies aboard for the ride down to Orlando!
Todays transport involved 12 separate move requests and (other than two weather delays) went off as scheduled. The rescue groups and shelters did a fantastic job as we moved 40 dogs (9 North, 31 South).
Looking forward to the next one!!
31 Photos in three emails to follow. 1st set is of the 9 dogs going North. Set 2 and 3 are the group heading south.
