June 10-11, 2016 Farish Simmons Pilots N Paws Transport

Hi All,
This transport was a 10 pilot “mini” flyaway in honor of Farish Simmons of Alabama Rescue Relay in which around 167 dogs and kittens received their freedom rides to new happy lives. The transport actually began on June 7 with one of our “wingless” pilots driving to Marianna, FL and transporting 14 dogs.
The balance of our pilots departed their respective airports for Greenville, AL on June 10. I made a quick stop in Tampa to pick up a special needs English Bulldog that had been adopted to a family in Louisiana. Ground transport picked the boy up in Greenville, AL and completed his journey.
On June 11 we loaded the 9 aircraft with 152 dogs and kittens for our trip south. Weather became an issue with thunderstorms around the state so all pilots ended up landing in Orlando and all the rescues drove in from around the state to pick up their new arrivals. Great team effort!
Challenges are always expected on these larger transports and this one was no exception. Everyone involved worked to make it happen and when it was completed there were smiles all around.
(the photos are only of the 37 critters that I transported)
