Pilots Use Training Time to Rally for Rescue

Six year old Oreo’s owner died suddenly and relatives took him to the Transylvania Animal Shelter in Brevard County, NC. His mate was adopted but this senior pointer was lingering, and faring poorly. CrisisDogsNC stepped in with an adopter in Cary, NC.

Rex White, working on his instrument rating, and Brian Eberle, working on his commercial license hours, both students at Centennial Aviation Academy responded to the call for transport. Oreo hitched a ride to the Asheville airport (KAVL) with shelter adoption manager Joleen V. Brannigan and settled comfortably in the Piper Archer’s back seat.

White and Eberle split the flight, landing at Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina (KRDU) where Oreo’s adopter awaited. Thank you to all! See more PNP rescue pics on www.crisisdogsnc.org under Freedom Rides.
