Last Tuesday we did our 35th Freedom Flight for a super sweet Great Dane named Grace.   Grace had been found on the streets near L.A. and taken to a shelter in Riverside.  When she was taken in by Delaney’s Dogs, she had a horrible skin condition that required a lot of TLC to help her get over.  She was flown up to San Jose, where Karen took her in, and spent a lot of time helping her skin, as well as putting on some desperately needed weight.   Karen and Grace got very attached to each other, but Grace wouldn’t get along with Karen’s other dog, so when she was healed up enough to travel and be up for adoption, we brought her back to SoCal.   Maureen Delaney met us with Grace in Santa Barbara, and Kim and I took advantage of the time to make a day of it, seeing some of the sights.

Grace makes 71 animals we’ve transported.  We’ve now done several transports for Delaney’s Dogs, as well as a few other coordinators, and are getting to know the community pretty well.  It’s an amazing group of people brought together to save these lives.  Thank you to Pilots and Paws for bringing us all together time and again.
