login not remembered and doesn't take you back to post you were on

When I get a notice for a transport via email, I click on the link in the email and it takes me to the post but I'm not logged in. So I click log in, and do so, and then it takes me to the list of forums instead of back to the page I was on. It does not remember that I'm logged in after that, so if I go back to the email and click the link to get back to the post, I am not logged in, so I have to log in again, which then takes me to the list of forums.

There is no way for me to get to a post I received an email notice for, and then subscribe to the topic, without logging in and then just searching for the post.

Also, if I go that route and search for it and subscribe to it, then when a reply is posted, I get an email, but if I try to use the link in it to see what the response was, it takes me to the login page. So I log in, and then it takes me to the list of forums page, not to the topic where the reply was posted.

Is there any way for me to fix this? It worked fine before the update but I don't know if it is a setting I need to change on my end or if there is a problem with the site. I haven't changed computers, operating systems, or browsers.

Let me know on the next notification email you get... the links in there weren't updated to HTTPS yet, just did that. Although it already redirects to HTTPS from HTTP link, this might help your case.
What browser are you using?

The link is written in the email as https but if I view the link it is actually taking me to, it is http. The emails were definitely sent after July 22. In fact I just received another and same situation.

I *think* it might be corrected on Safari on my Mac but will have to verify tonight. On my phone, I use the gmail app and it opens web pages within the app versus opening Safari. In the app, it still does not work. But it did work in the app before the update.

Just tested and it does work if I copy the link and open it in safari. So I will just do that for now. Not sure if you'll be able to get it to work within the gmail app like it used to, or if that is worth your time.

The actual link behind the one you see in the email - like httsp://pilotsnpaws.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=42007 - actually does link to http for click tracking, but then that passes you on immediately (shouldn't even notice it is so quick) to the real PNP HTTPS link.

If that isn't working - do you have an ad blocker or similar? Some of the older version of adblock and ublock had some quirks about redirections like this.

In the gmail app - open one of the links - does it show HTTPS in the URL at the top when you click on it? Either way, login (checking "stay logged in"), confirm you are logged in, then log out manually. Then close the app and reopen, reopen email, login (with checkbox still to stay logged in).
We have seen cases where you have to manually logout to delete the PNP cookie that might be old.
