I am new to this and have been reading posts on how to coordinate a transport, I need advice on the feasibility of moving a special needs dog from the Hilton Head area to Colorado Springs. Our problem is this boy is very unsocialized so changing planes for different legs is problematic. We would need a pilot/pilots experienced in handling almost feral dogs.I don't think using a volunteer foster to keep him overnight would work. He needs to make the trip all in one day. There are also some time constraints, we need this done ASAP.
Can Pilots N Paws handle a transport like this?
Any advice or info on someone who could help with the coordination would be appreciated.

Distance that far is best going to be commercial. That would require at least a few legs and fosters given the distance.

Mike,
We may have a person willing to drive to wherever a flight can get to in one day. Can we leave the posting open ended? I thought if we could get 3 legs of 250 or 300 mile each, we should be able to get to the midwest area and receiving organization can drive the dog the rest of the way.
Would leaving the end point up to the pilot of the last leg work?

Sure - you can try that approach and possibly get them closer to CO. Finding a foster midway would be good to keep logistics easier (ie, weather delays or such)
