Hi Mike,
As I have mentioned before, one of the best tools you could provide is on the Map this Request link. Right now the map that comes up will only show volunteers with a selected radius of the beginning and ending points of the transport. What we need is for the map to show all the volunteers within the selected radius of any and all points along the direct route of transport. Just having the beginning and end volunteers within 200 NM max is really only helpful for a 400 NM or less transport. Could you fix this?

Re: New pilot search by airport and zip code
Hi again, Mike,
Another thing I just noticed is that on the PNP Trip Map and the "Filter by recent activity" options, that trips with recent activity don't appear in the time period selection when they should and sometime appear and then disappear and then reappear as you go longer in the time frame. I first noticed that the trip that I posted activity on today did not appear with the "Today" optimization and in fact did not appear until I was out to the last 7 days option. Maybe you could look into this.
Thanks.

Hi Jerry - do you have an example of that trip that didn't show?

Re: New pilot search by airport and zip code
This one has been posted to today, but doesn't show until until "in last 5 days":
http://pilotsnpaws.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=34712
It disappears "in the last 7 days" and reappears 'in the last 14 days.
Others do the same appearing and disappearing act,

Jerry -
Two things - what browser/computer are you using? I tested with a few and see the trip show up each time.
I'm wondering if certain browsers or maybe tablets are getting overloaded by all the trips.. Maybe a west coast vs east map could narrow things down.
Next - I am working on the volunteers along a route.
Actually working on it tonight, with help from dog #1. I think I have a quick fix - will keep you posted and will send a test link soon.

Looks like you have a great assistant.
I am using a Dell Optiplex 3010 Desktop computer with Windows 7 and Google Chrome for Internet browsing. However, now that you mention it, I am having lots of trouble with my computer right now and will be taking it in on Tuesday to have it checked out. The technician thinks I may have a problem with my operating system. So that may be the problem. You can wait until I get my computer fixed to see if I still have the problem before you go to work on it.
I just tried using Mozilla Firefox and Windows Explorer for browsing the PNP Trip Map and both of them seemed to work okay, so I really now suspect the problems are in my computer.
If you can implement all volunteers along the entire route, that would be great. When I try to put together a transport, I start by sending a private message to everyone I can see as a candidate along the route. Since the trip map currently only shows volunteers at the beginning and end, I have to go to the volunteer map and try to visualize the route on that map to pick my candidates. Seeing all the volunteers on the trip map will make that much easier.

Re: New pilot search by airport and zip code
The assistant was of questionable help this evening Chasing leaves is all he is good at.
Check out this trip - it should show the line and near pilots pretty quick, then, about 1-2 seconds it should fill in all the ones in a big box between the start/end:
http://pilotsnpaws.org/maps/maps_single ... opic=35128
Here is your recent trip:
http://pilotsnpaws.org/maps/maps_single ... opic=34712
It filters by airport code, so right now it is only showing pilot volunteers.. need to tweak to get fosters/etc too.
Let me know if that works better,
Mike

Re: New pilot search by airport and zip code
Yes, now you are getting the idea. I'm not sure the options for time since last visit and radius to show are working quite right, but then again it may be my computer. You used the word "box", so I would assume that you are using a radius around the end points and then straight lines on each side parallel to the route, or maybe just a pure rectangle the selected distance from each side and ends of the track. Whatever the case, this is great!!!!
I am seeing some changes when I select different options for time since last visit and radius to show, but the results don't always seem correct to me, particularly the radius to show. You probably don't have all of the options implemented yet. For example, when I select 10 miles for radius, I am seeing volunteers out as far as 100 miles on one side of the track, but not the other until I in fact select 100 miles. This feature will be very useful when needing to develop a routing other that a straight line, which is usually the case.
This is the best tool you have provided now in my opinion, and the other ones are very useful also. Now the only way you could make this one better is to make it so that the user could change the straight line routing to waypoint routing such as one can do in Skyvector or AOPA FlyQ and still have the volunteers show up within the selected distance. Probably a lot to ask, but thought I would mention it anyway.
Thanks for putting the effort into this.
