Additional info/situation: This is an amazing microchip story! Gorda came in to our Santa Maria, California shelter as a stray about a week ago and the chip was not registered so we've been trying to reach the shelter who put the chip in this whole time. We finally got ahold of them today and they told us this little dog's owner filed a lost report in July 2020 in Las Vegas. They gave us the owner's contact information. The phone #'s were no good so we emailed and we immediately got a response back at the the owner has been looking for "her baby" for almost a year! She would love to get her little dog back but cannot fly or drive to California to pick her up (she is working on paying her phone bill). If we can get her home, this would be a wonderful wonderful story and we plan on writing a press release!
