Dogs On Deployment Reunites Family with PnP Help

Well we finally did it! Zena and Jay are finally home with Kathleen.

This all came together late Friday afternoon with the two legs from Albuquerque, NM to Dallas, TX on Saturday going without a hitch. Thank you Mark and Victor.

Then came Sunday morning! Fog and mist in the southeast delayed departure from Dallas by two hours. Headed for Monroe LA, Victor had to land in two open fields and two airports, the last being Shreveport LA due to the fog and mist. Fortunately he was flying a helicopter. Then Ben was finally able to depart Monroe and fly back to Shreveport to get the dogs from Victor. Ben and David decided to make their transfer at Pine Mountain, GA which they were able to do. David then flew in the dark to his home base in Athens, GA where he overnighted the dogs before flying them to Augusta, GA and delivering them to Kathleen.

I cannot express how great my appreciation is to all of you who volunteered to make this eventually possible. Especially to Victor, Ben, and David who went way above and beyond the call of duty to deliver these two wonderful dogs to Kathleen, our dedicated service member. Also to Brenda W, who connected me with Ben and to Ed F. and Ron J. who volunteered for a northern routing.

AND, I’d like to add from everyone involved thru Dogs On Deployment a heartfelt thanks for all you folks did to pull this off.

Jerry C.
