Today I flew up to Sikeston, MO, met Leslie Hall, picked up Mara, and flew her to Effingham, IL where Transport Coordinator for Midwest Lab Rescue Betsey met our flight.

Mara’s story is very sad. She walked up to a farmhouse barely able to walk, a walking skeleton, covered in tics and close to death. Her tail was gangrenous and she also had pyometra. Her tail had to be amputated. She also has heart worms. Thanks to a big hearted farmer and Boot Heel Paws and Midwest Lab Rescue, Mara was saved and now in Chicago where the rescue will continue treating Miracle Mara and find her a new forever home.
