Mom and Puppies Given Freedom Flight

Mom and Puppies Given Freedom Flight

Recently, a rescue organization in Georgia made a post on the Pilots N Paws forum asking for help. They had recently found a pregnant dog, which they named Sassy, in an abandoned building in Georgia. She gave birth to 13 puppies a few days later. A while after, Sassy and her pups needed to be transported from rural Georgia to another rescue in Florida, where they could receive medical care, be fostered, and find their forever homes.

Thankfully, a PNP pilot, Barbara, stepped up to take the mom and her numerous puppies in her twin-engine plane. She decided to fly to Georgia and fly Sassy and her numerous puppies 300 miles to Florida. They received prompt medical care, and are now safe at a Florida rescue being prepared for adoption. In fact, one of the co-pilots fell in love with Sassy and will likely end up adopting her.

“Helping puppies has always been something I wanted to do.  I believe that animals are a gift from God, and I am thrilled to be helping out any way I can.”

Thank you to Pilot Barbara, her co-pilots, and all the other people that assisted in getting Sassy and her puppies saved!
