Paws of War – PTSD Disabled Vet Service Dog Transport

The request came from Paws of War, “Sweet one year old chocolate lab Toby was on his way to be dropped off at the shelter. He had been purchased to be a hunting dog and his personality doesn’t make him a good hunting dog. A good samaritan stepped in and immediately saw that Toby was a candidate for a service dog. Toby is in the process of training to be a service dog and is ready to go to his adopter, a disabled vet with PTSD. Would you like to help get Toby by the side of the person who needs him most?”

Jim Carney stepped up to cover the entire flight and flew Toby from Covington, TN to Flagler Beach Airport near Daytona Beach, FL.

Toby was destined to serve his new veteran friend Elisha. During her second tour in Afghanistan, Elisha was severely wounded in both legs and was told she would never walk again. Like a true fighter, after 11 surgeries, she is getting around with difficulty, but Toby will help ease her pain and anxiety. Paws of War trains these dogs and makes these pairings possible
